چکیده

Background To study the nursing method of mild hypothermia therapy for moderate or severe hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) in neonates. Methods According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 48 patients were selected from Nanfang Hospital from December 2015 to October 2016 and randomly divided into the control group (n=24) and observation group (n=24). The control group received routine treatment and nursing, while the observation group received the same treatment as the control group combined with mild hypothermia treatment and nursing. The clinical effects were compared. Results The total effective rate in the observation group was increased and mortality was decreased, and the differences were statistically significant (P=0.029 and 0.033, respectively). The 28 d neonatal behavioral neurological assessment and nursing satisfaction scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P=0.017 and 0.008, respectively). Conclusion Mild hypothermia therapy for moderate or severe HIE in neonates is safe and effective, and the correct nursing method is important for guaranteeing proper clinical treatment.

Study of Neurodevelopmental Outcomes at 10-14 Months of Age Using Bayley Scale of Infant and Toddler Development in Asphyxiated Newborns with Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy Treated with and without Therapeutic Hypothermia

Background: Therapeutic hypothermia has become an established protocol for all neonates with moderate to severe Hypoxic Ischaemic Encephalopathy (HIE). There are very few studies comparing the neurodevelopmental outcomes in asphyxiated neonates who received therapeutic hypothermia or did not. This study aimed to assess the neurodevelopmental outcomes of asphyxiated neonates with features of HIE...

SBDPs and Tau proteins for diagnosis and hypothermia therapy in neonatal hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy

The use of spectrin breakdown products (SBDPs) and Tau protein levels for diagnosis and a mild hypothermia therapy for treatment of neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) was evaluated. One hundred and fifty infants, with HIE within 12 h after birth, participated in the study. There were 30 newborns with mild symptoms, 60 with moderate symptoms, 60 with severe symptoms, and 30 in a cont...

Lower incidence of seizure among neonates treated with therapeutic hypothermia.

Animal studies suggest that hypothermia decreases seizure burden, whereas limited human data are inconclusive. This retrospective cohort study examines the relationship between therapeutic hypothermia and seizure in neonates with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy. Our center admitted 224 neonates from July 2004 to December 2011 who met institutional cooling criteria. Seventy-three neonates were b...
